Dog-friendly Britain
by Joanna and the Fabulous Famous Five
Welcome to a world where you can Bring The Dogs
I am so happy you found our guide to dog-friendly days out, places to eat, and places to stay across the UK. Many entries are places we have visited with our four miniature schnauzers – Nell, Gertie, Wilma, and Silky Sue – and written up afterwards. Others are places I have researched or been recommended, marked “On my list to visit” until I have been with the dogs and written them up as Tried and tested. Fellow dog owners are very welcome to add their own reviews. The notes for each place focus on the facts: terrain, distances, facilities available, and how many dogs are welcome, and also on our personal experiences: what we saw, what we did, what we loved, and I have added my own photos of our visits to each venue. We have a lot of handy kit and accessories for travelling with the ladies, and I have curated my best recommendations on the Dog Travel Kit page.

Cornwall with four schnauzers, days six and seven: the Springer Spaniel, seals and Trebah Garden
Day six brought the rain back, almost as heavily as day four. Day seven, our last, gave us the opposite: sunshine and a bit of a breeze, and the longest drive of the week to round things off. After a holiday of dodging showers, it felt like Cornwall had saved a treat for the end.…
